UK: David Tennant Features In 'You Saw Them Here First' On ITV Tonight

David Tennant is one of many stars to be featured on a new edition of the hit ITV archive show You Saw Them Here First: Hall Of Fame which airs tonight at 8pm.

ITV turns 60 this month and as part of the celebrations the network has been raiding the archives to put together a brand new collection of clips. Presenters, comedians, TV detectives, soap stars… they all had to start somewhere, and You Saw Them Here First showcases the first steps in television of some of ITV’s biggest names.

As well as a young David, the programme features early appearances from Ant and Dec, Davina McCall, Holly Willoughby, Jonathan Ross, Judy Finnigan, Paul O’Grady, Richard Madeley, Robson Green, Sarah Lancashire, Sheridan Smith, Stephen Mulhern and many more. Look out too for David's Broadchurch co-star Olivia Colman in a 2004 advert for the AA.

In a new feature, some very special guests will also find themselves inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’, with a personal screening of their earliest works in the show’s hilarious confessional video booth. A highlight of the show sees Sir Bruce Forsyth watching his presenting debut on Sunday Night at the London Palladium back in 1959. Lorraine Kelly cringes at her first reports for TV-am in 1984, Phillip Schofield relives his 1994 debut on ITV hosting Talking Telephone Numbers, TV detective Kevin Whately owns up about his previous job as Kevin the truck driver in Coronation Street in 1981, and Weatherfield’s duo Barbara Knox and Thelma Barlow are reunited as they look back at their respective careers before life in the Kabin.

'The Incomparable David Tennant' - Krysten Ritter On Marvel's Jessica Jones & Her Co-Star

Krysten Ritter, the star of the upcoming Netflix exclusive series Marvel's Jessica Jones, has been talking about the filming of the show and about her relationship with her co-star David Tennant. Krysten was in conversation with Marc Strom, editor of Marvel.com, for the weekly Marvel Podcast.

Much of the show, a dark, gritty adaptation of the MarvelMAX comic book series Alias, revolves around the dynamic between the Krysten's character Jessica Jones, a former superhero, now turned private detective, and the shadowy Kilgrave, played by David. Their past encounters were abusive and twisted and Jessica was left traumatised by events. The evil inflicted on Jessica by Kilgrave is what has shaped her whole character; however Krysten was happy to confirm that the real David was a million miles away from his onscreen identity.

"The incomparable David Tennant!" she said. "He is a total pro, he is a joy to be around. He is a very kind person and a very supportive scene partner - one of the best scene partners I've ever had in my whole career, and I've had a few great ones."

"David Tennant blew my mind day in and day out with not only his acting ability but also his professionalism and his general attitude," she continued. "Just like a good guy, such a great person."

Krysten confirmed that the show would be very unlike anything that Marvel have produced so far, either for cinema or TV.

"This is them crossing the line to a whole other genre," she said, "So that's an exciting thing to be part of, because our show is a psychological thriller and it's dark and gritty, it's very different from the movies. Even just taking all the superpowers out of it this is still a very complex, unique and different character and the show is unlike anything I've seen on television."

You can listen to the whole podcast here. Krysten's interview begins around 45 minutes in where she also discusses the tone of the show, her preparation, working with Mike Colter and performing her own stunts.

Marvel's Jessica Jones is adapted by Melissa Rosenberg from the Alias comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos. All thirteen episodes will be released internationally on Netflix this autumn.

USA: W1A Narrated By David Tennant Now Available To Stream Via Netflix

Both seasons of the BBC sitcom W1A have recently been added to the Netflix library in the USA.

The mock documentary series starring Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) and Jessica Hynes (Doctor Who) is the sequel to the award-winning comedy Twenty Twelve and catches up with Ian Fletcher, former head of the Olympic Deliverance Committee in his new role as Head of Values for the BBC. Jessica Hynes also returns as the infuriating PR guru Siobhan Sharpe.

David Tennant is back too, providing a dry and frequently hilarious voiceover. W1A is created by John Morton for BBC Two and also stars Nina Sosanya (Casanova), Jason Watkins (Danger In The Manger) and Sarah Parish (Blackpool).

Check it out here

W1A
The new Head of Values at the BBC deals with redefining the company's purpose, events like the arrival of Prince Charles and issues with new programs. Ian Fletcher tackles problems including complaints about discrimination and bias, hapless interns and, most important of all, where he is going to sit.
