David Tennant Reads Gold

David Tennant sent Christian O'Connell a specially recorded version of the Spandau Ballet classic Gold to include in this morning's Olympic tribute Spandathon on Absolute Radio this morning. The song has been played 29 times - one for each gold medal won by the UK Olympic squad.

The show has also included versions by Tony Hadley, Newton Faulkner and opera singer Joanne McGahon.

You can listen to David's rather unique reading here, thanks to Absolute Radio. I think you'll agree with us that it is pretty splendid!
