Spies Of Warsaw Premieres On Polish TV Tonight



Polish fans of David Tennant will get their chance to see the first episode of his new drama Szpiedzy w Warszawie (Spies Of Warsaw) on TVP1 from 8.30pm tonight. TVP will be showing the series in four parts.

The drama, based on the novel of the same name by Alan Furst, is set in Europe in 1937, as Jean-Francois Mercier (David Tennant), the new military attache to the French embassy in Warsaw and secretly an intelligence officer, uncovers evidence of Nazi plans to invade. However, his work is further complicated when he falls in love with a League of Nations lawyer, Anna Skarbek (Janet Montgomery). Spies Of Warsaw also features Polish stars Marcin Dorocinski, Miroslaw Zbrojewicz and Magda Poplawska. It was filmed on location in Poland and directed by Coky Giedroyc. Spies Of Warsaw is a joint production between Fresh Pictures for BBC Four, TVP, ArteFrance and BBC America.
