The annual TV festival is attended by over 2000 delegates from the television industry and includes presentations by major UK controllers, industry leaders and creatives. This year's speakers include Chris Chibnall, the writer of Doctor Who and Broadchurch.

The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special will be broadcast worldwide on Saturday 23rd November and will also have a limited cinematic release. The cast includes Matt Smith, David Tennant, John Hurt, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper and Joanna Page. Few details have been confirmed other than that the show has been filmed in 3D, that John Hurt plays a mysterious dark version of the Doctor and that the Doctor, in his various incarnations, will face classic foes the Daleks and the Zygons. Steven Moffat has also hinted that the episode will be of extended length.

TV viewers worldwide are still eagerly awaiting their own first glimpse of the special.
