Postman Pat: The Movie Premières In London's West End

The red carpet was out in London's Leicester Square earlier today as the stars arrived for the world première of Postman Pat: The Movie. The 3D CGI film, the first ever cinematic outing for the popular kids' character, features the voice of Stephen Mangan as Pat with David Tennant, Rupert Grint, Susan Duerden and Jim Broadbent. Ronan Keating provides Pat's singing voice.

Today's event was attended by Stephen Mangan and his wife Louise Delamere, Ronan Keating and partner Storm Uechtritz, Rupert Grint, Susan Duerden, writer Anika Bluhm and director Mike Disa. Also present were presenters Sarah Beeny, Jenni Falconer and Lizzie Cundy, actress Parminder Nagra, Britain's Got Talent stars Ashleigh and Pudsey, and of course, the star of the show, Postman Pat himself, along with sidekick Jess the Cat.

David Tennant, who plays Wilf, the devious manager of Rupert Grint's singer character Josh, was not able to attend due to his overseas commitments to Gracepoint, the American remake of Broadchurch.

Postman Pat: The Movie opens in cinemas across the UK on Friday 23rd May, just in time for the school holidays.

Postman Pat: The Movie
The film finds Pat, everyone’s favourite postman, coming face-to-face with the temptations of money, status and a shiny new suit when he enters a national TV talent show competition that threatens to tear him away from his hometown of Greendale and his family and friends. What happens when kindness meets selfishness? When local fame meets global notoriety? A nice cup of tea is kicked aside by a frappacappucino? Pat is set to find out as he falls for the age-old temptation of the grass being greener…
